About the Project

ART FOR ALL is transforming the Central Library Garage through storytelling murals that celebrate community, dignity, and connection.
Together with local artists and our unhoused neighbors, we’re creating murals that reflect Austin’s true spirit.

A little About Mural Arts

Mural Arts Philadelphia is the nation’s largest public art program, founded in 1984. Based in Philadelphia, it transforms public spaces through community-driven murals that promote dialogue, inclusion, and social change.

They’ve created over 4,000 murals across the city, working with local artists and residents to tell authentic community stories — turning walls into powerful symbols of hope and belonging.

Workshop Goal #1

Engage the Community

We want to hear your stories.
What does the library mean to you?
What memories or emotions come to mind when you walk through its doors?
