On Behalf of our organization, we would like to thank everyone who came out in support of the unveiling of “The Hands that Nurture Us” by Ernesto Hernandez commissioned by Rosewood Restaurant and the Silent Auction Benefiting Raasin in the Sun. We truly appreciate and enjoyed the positive vibes and enthusiasm throughout the evening.
THROUGH HER NONPROFIT,Raasin in the Sun, Olympic and collegiate athlete Raasin McIntosh lives her motto “Rise and shine” every single day. She was first inspired to create a community-beautification project while traveling through western Africa for local track meets, preparing to run the 400-meter hurdles for Liberia at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
This summer Raasin in the Sun partnered with LGI Homes produced a small outdoor residential restoration for the home of Exalton and Wilhelmina Delco, who are historical and prominent members of the East Austin Community. We are grateful and excited for this amazing opportunity to uplift and celebrate the elders who have paved the way for Austin’s present and future generations. The mission: To paint exterior, powerwash concrete, and plant flower beds for the Delco’s home.
In this episode we speak with @Raasin from Raasin In The Sun a non-profit in Austin, TX that specializes in beautification and restoration on the East Side. They have amazing projects currently in the pipeline including murals and clean ups. If you'd like to volunteer hit them up.
