The Seabrook Project
A new affordable housing + cultural space coming to East Austin
Seabrook Square is a new affordable housing community coming soon to East Austin offering studio to 4-bedroom homes, including live/work options for artists.
What is Seabrook Square?
Designed to be more than housing, the site will also feature an art plaza and cultural spaces, all just minutes from downtown Austin.
Why “Seabrook” matters
Seabrook Square is named in honor of Dr. John Jarvis Seabrook, a pastor, educator, and civic leader who dedicated his life to improving education, healthcare, and equity in Austin.
His legacy reminds us that community development and community care go hand in hand.
Honoring Community Legacy
At the heart of this project is a mural honoring Roger Taylor Sr. — a lifelong advocate for families, veterans, and East Austin neighborhoods.
Roger served as founder and president of the J.J. Seabrook Neighborhood Association, leading community organizing efforts for decades and shaping lasting change across the city.
Integral Care provides mental health, crisis care, and wellness support to people across Austin and Travis County — with services available 24/7.
Seabrook Square II will be their newest permanent supportive housing community, offering fully furnished studio homes for individuals exiting homelessness. Alongside housing, residents will have access to mental health care, primary care, and substance use support — creating a foundation for stability, recovery, and dignity.
