RITS will produce a vibrant, powerful, and expressive mural to keep music in Austin alive and well. Nods to the founders of HAAM, Robin and Bud Shivers, whom you will find in the crowd, and gratitude to Lynne Dobson and Greg Wooldridge, the founders of the Tejemos Foundation.
Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), Headquarters located at 3036 S. 1st St, Austin, TX 78704, HAAM provides access to affordable healthcare for Greater Austin’s low-income, working musicians, with a focus on prevention and wellness. Many Austin musicians are self-employed and have no access to health insurance or basic healthcare.
Austin’s economic success is directly correlated to the music community and the culture it provides Central Austin. In a city that is increasingly expensive to live in, HAAM continues to provide a necessary lifeline to Austin’s musicians. By providing access to critical healthcare services, HAAM has made it possible for musicians to stay in Austin, creating the art they are so passionate about, and we all enjoy.
